[glow=red,2,300]Hi Members, I got this email and I want to ask your opinion and debate this so any takers? **Step Right up** BB Gypsy
EMAIL:
There are many different views on the topic of karma and I wish to question some of those views . Many people who study occult belive in karmatic consequences to their actions but could karma just be a way of keeping everyone in line? If someone wrongs you should you just wait until karma delivers punishment onto that person? In my opinion I do not belive that karma always serves justice. Why should I wait if someone has wronged me? Why shouldnt I be the judge of the situation and take matters into my own hands? I have first hand experienced that karma dose not effect every matter. I was stabbed five times and was karma there to intervene? No. I did what any logical human being would do. I fought against my attacker until he laid at my feet beat senseless. As Hammurabi said when he developed the first real justice system in the world. "An eye for a eye and a tooth for a tooth." Now I do agree that to a point karma dose play a role in bringing justice to people who cannot defend themselves but is it always reliable? I would like to see your views on this subject [/glow]

My thoughts about Karma.... I do not believe we can simply throw karma out the window because it is a moral construct. The butterfly effect helps illustrate how karma can work without thinking about it as some cosmic consciousness that knows what you did and will pass judgment accordingly.
Karma could be seen as the driving force of a community to see that its moral code is enforced. It could be that driving sense within us that keeps pedophiles away for life and serial killers in lush condos on parole. Karma is a sense of unimpeachable communal morality, and is therefore a bit higher on the cosmic scale than morality in general (I think it's immoral to swear at old ladies, but I don't think anyone's going to suffer from it...except the old ladies, but I think a pedophile will rot in hell for what he's done and could possibly have done).
I don't believe in Karma the way Wiccans, Buddhists, and Hindus do, but I believe it exists and has effects on us all, whether we want it to or not. BB Gypsy

well to a point yes it works. Things come back to people the way they put it out. I must say though that I am still waiting for Karma to be nice to me. I may have really messed up in a past life. I am a good and I try to always treat people how I want to be treated. But let me tell you in 3 years I have lost three grandparents, about 40 friends & other family members have died,my boyfriend was killed in an accident,my house burned down, I got into 2 car accidents(one involving a death),I lost my children in a custody battle, my youngest daughter was kidnapped by her biological father, my property has been vandalized several times, my classic cars (5) were vandalized and destroyed, I was arrested for counterfeiting mopney(thrown out of court though), a friend was shot & killed while sitting in the seat in front of me, my ex-boyfriend is a crazy stalker, hhhhhhhhhhmmmmmmmmmm oh well thats not all of it theres more but you get the point. Still even with all that that has happened I still have taken several homeless people into my home, I have volunteered several places all over, I stayed with my friend for several months after her back surgery, I always help my friends whenever they need me, etc. i dop not do anything because I may get something out of it, i do it because I should. Karma works for others ,I am sure of that but I am still waiting for it to remember me.

Thankyou for the post gypsy.
Dearest lady jay. some times things do seem so unfair and at time may be like the world is against us. i think we can all relate to that in our own ways. you seem to have found a way to deal with things which is good and you have an understanding of karma. i have spent more or less three years on my own karma and have very much found a balance in my life and karma plays a great part in what i do. this plays hell with any spell work that i do.and i do many things just to keep ballanced in my life. its my belief that karma comes back but there is no justice, we could lose a penny and find a pound. we could take a life and loss a finger. the negative and positive does not alway equal out.

I believe in Karma and I believe that over time Karma is just. Over time being the key here. We want karma to adjust itself to our timeline and it doesn't, it occurs in it's own timeline, frustrating for us who want it to occur when we want it. In my experience, it seems to occur way down the line, usually when I no longer have interest in karma occuring over a given situation. Somehow though we always seem to be made aware that it has occured, but in my life, by than, the only thought I usually have is "Hmmm, karma does work" not "This person or that person is getting the karma they deserve". Just my observation.

I believe greatly in Karma. My teachings say that it will come about in either this life or the next. This shows that it takes a very long time for Karma to show her head and say "I think you diserve this" One way or another Karma will get herself around and make things the way they should.

hmmmm, this is an interesting topic and it has gotten me thinking.....Do I believe in Karma? First let me start with another semi-related topic that will bring me back to this one, do I believe that in our lives we are meant to learn certain lessons? Yes, absolutely. I think that we all have a cosmic "game plan" for our lives, and we have a basic framework of lessons learned. I believe in free will, but I also believe that these lessons are unescapable, that no matter what choices we make we will face them. So, back to the original question, do I believe in karma? Yes I do. But I believe it does not interfere with these lessons. You might be the sweetest nicest person in the world who for all intents and purposes should be skipped by bad karma in your life, BUT your life lessons might FEEL like bad karma to you, but are really just things you need to make your way through in order to leave this world and be ready for your next big adventure. Also, Karma doesn't always work the way we think it does. Someone might feel wronged and think that the person who wronged them will get their just results, but in actuallity no offense was made and so karma skipped the person, or even delivered it's blow in a way we might not have realized.
Also, Gypsy you mentioned the Butterfly Effect, I think in a way Karma can be like this. IE: A man is abusive to his wife, karma should be kicking him in the butt. Instead though he gets up one day and wins the lottery and leaves his wife. He goes out and lives the life of a despot, partying all the time and causing a raucus everywhere he goes and his poor wife thinks to herself, well so much for karma. Then one day the man is out having a good old time partying it up and he gets into a bar fight and is killed. The wife inherits all his money. Karma caught up with the man, it just took a zigzag route to get to him. Who's to say if he hadn't wom the lottery he wouldn't have lived a long healthy life ruining his wife's life? So yes I believe in karma, I just don't believe it is restricted to our perceptions of it, if that makes any sense. lol

Karma is to pageans what faith is to christians I think.
It is one of those things you just have to believe or not.
If you believe in karma then you don't NEED proof that it is working. You assume that there is a zigzag going to happen if you don't see it right away.
I do think that when you get kicked in the butt by karma you know it. Most people say "why me" but if you believe in karma then you know you deserved it or are suppose to learn a lesson from some negative experience.
I am not sure however if I believe in it building up through out variouse lives. I would think that you are reborn fresh and with a clean slate so that you might learn more and have more free will.
