What deck(s) do you use? Have you used? What is your favorite and why? Don't just list the names of the deck. Try to explain why you are drawn to a particular deck and why you feel it works well for you. In addition, if there are decks you do not like at all, tell us why.[glow=red,2,300][/glow]

One of my favorite decks is Whimsical Tarot. It was the first deck that I could get a reading from. It is a bit "kiddish" (but I am a school teacher so I guess it fits). All of the art work is based on fairy tales and nursery rhymes, which is what made it so easy for me to read. I already knew the stories and understood the meaning of the pictures so could make my interpretations with out a ton of studying needed. I now sell this deck and others have reported similar reasons for buying and using this deck. One woman bought it because she was beginning to do readings for others on a regular basis and found that people who really didn't understand tarot were put off by some of the artwork in her current deck. She felt that the "cute" factor of this deck would be more appropriate for those clients.
Over the summer, a young lady bought the Rider Waite deck from my store, then returned an hour later asking for advice on how to do a reading with them. As I explained the basics of tarot reading to her, I found that the cards were really easy for me to read and I ended up doing an impromptu reading for her. The artwork is very simplistic and pretty straight forward in meaning. Same goes for the colors used; they are not very "pretty" cards, but the simplistic color choices do aide in the reading of them. They are considered a good deck for beginners, and are one of the ones I usually recommend to customers wanting to learn.

I have several different ones and actually I am in the process of making my own. I have not a favorite deck. I use certain decks for certain questions.
